AI semester planner for college students

How the semester planner works
Upload your syllabus
PDF, Word doc, or pasted text. PassAI reads the actual document layout — tables, footnotes, and the grading breakdown most tools skip.
Every graded item comes out
Assignments, exams, quizzes, and the grade weight attached to each one. Recurring items like weekly reading quizzes expand into individual dated entries.
Review what it found
Dates calculated from a week reference rather than stated outright get flagged, so you know which ones to double-check against your professor.
Get a day-by-day plan
A semester calendar, a daily email telling you what to work on, and a running grade that updates as you enter scores.
Why grade weights are the part that matters
Most planning tools give you a list of dates. A date tells you when something is due; it does not tell you whether it is worth 2% or 30% of your grade. That single number decides where your week should go, and it is the reason a calendar full of deadlines still leaves you guessing.
PassAI pulls the weight off the grading table along with the date, so every item in your semester arrives already ranked by how much it can move your grade. When four things are due in the same week, you can see which one actually decides the semester.
It also flags inferred dates. When a syllabus says “Week 6” instead of a calendar date, PassAI calculates the date and marks it as calculated rather than stated — so you know which handful to confirm instead of trusting all of them equally.
Compared to planning it yourself
Google Calendar and Notion hold a schedule well, but neither builds one. You read all five syllabi and type every date in yourself, and neither has a field for grade weight.
Canvas only shows what your professor entered, which is often partial and frequently late. The syllabus is the authoritative document; Canvas is a copy of it that someone has to maintain.
ChatGPT can read a syllabus, but you get a block of text back, not a plan that persists, updates, and reminds you in October. We compare these honestly in PassAI vs Notion for students and why Canvas isn't enough.

What is an AI semester planner?
An AI semester planner reads your course syllabus and turns it into a structured schedule automatically, instead of you copying dates into a calendar by hand. PassAI extracts every assignment, exam, quiz, and grade weight from the syllabus PDF, then builds a day-by-day study plan around those deadlines.
How long does it take to plan a semester with PassAI?
Under 60 seconds per syllabus. A typical course produces around 16 graded items — for example a real history syllabus produced 2 exams, 6 quizzes, and 8 assignments with every grade weight extracted from the grading table. Doing that by hand for five courses is most of an afternoon.
What file formats does it accept?
PDF up to 10MB, Word .docx, photos of your syllabus (JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF) up to 5MB, and plain pasted text up to 100,000 characters. PDFs are read natively, so the layout and tables survive, and photos are read directly — you can snap a picture of a paper syllabus. Canvas links, HEIC photos, and the older .doc format are not supported.
How is this different from just using Google Calendar or Notion?
Both are empty containers — they hold a schedule well but will not build one. You still read the syllabus and enter every date yourself. PassAI does the extraction, and it captures grade weights, which calendars have nowhere to put and which determine what is actually worth your time.
Does it work with any college or syllabus format?
Yes. It works from the syllabus document itself rather than a Canvas integration, so it does not depend on your school or your professor keeping an LMS updated.
What does it cost?
The free plan includes two syllabus uploads with no credit card. Pro is $9.99/month and Scholar is $14.99/month for students carrying more than two courses.
Does PassAI write my assignments for me?
No. It plans your semester and tracks your grades. It will not write your papers or answer your homework, which is deliberate — the point is knowing what is coming and what it is worth, not outsourcing the work.
